Plattsburgh State will be hosting a free instructional 2 -part workshop for families of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Parents, grandparents, caretakers, professionals are all invited. The capacity is 25 registrants ( they will be accepted in the order they reply.) The workshop will be repeated 2-3 times per year for the next few years. ( They have received a grant through OPWDD family Support Services.)
A component of the training is the follow-up home visit with recommendations. The visit is not required, but available to registrants who 1) express interest; 2) have a child with OPWDD eligibility.

The North Country Homeschooling group seeks to provide homeschooling support and activities to those living in the Northern NY counties of Clinton, Essex, and Franklin. Activity information is available via email, blog, and Facebook. Homeschooling support is provided though Facebook and a variety of monthly support groups. The North Country Homeschooling Group is open to anyone who homeschools or who is thinking of homeschooling. There are no membership fees.
