Adirondack Youth Orchestra Association Fall Season

As the new school year approaches we are getting ready for the Fall Season.  Opening day for all five groups will be September 10th.  However, if your son/daughter was in the AYO or AYV last year, you will be receiving an additional email regarding a jump start on their season.

The registration fees are remaining the same again this year.  The AYO fee for the combined Fall and Spring Season is $100 and the fee for all the other groups is $60.  As in the past, if you submit your registration by August 25ththere will be a $10 early registration discount.  Additional discounts are available for multi-group participation and for having multiple children participating.  A copy of the registration form is attached.

Also attached please find a business advertising form for our concert programs.  The fees from this advertising are one of our sources of revenue that help us keep the registration fees low.  If you are able to contact any local businesses that may be interested in advertising in our program it would be a great benefit to the kids and the organization.

Annual Homeschool History Day

The Annual Homeschool History Day will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Saranac Village at Will Rogers in Saranac Lake from 9:30 am to about 2:30 pm. The kids will do their presentations (in costume!) on the historical person (or thing) that they chose to research. Because we're at Will Rogers this year, the seniors who live there will be able to attend the kids' presentations and maybe even weigh in on some of the history! Then we'll have our potluck lunch in the downstairs room (where Game Night happens and where there is a kitchen and fridge for our use), and then we will come back up to the Great Room to watch the amazing documentary, "Hotel Hope" about the original Will Roger's Sanitorium. I'll ask the Activities Director if she has some ideas of how we can fit in a scavenger hunt around the building and grounds that has an educational basis! This event is hosted in conjunction by Saranac Village at Will Rogers and Historic Saranac Lake. Please only RSVP if you are certain you can come because this event requires a lot of planning and a specific head count.

REMINDER: Fall Soccer Sign Up

Here is the link to sign up ages 4-18 for the North Country Homeschool Soccer Team, which will practice at Kate Mountain Park in Vermontville on Saturdays in September and October 2017. All the details about the program are provided at this link, and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Deadline to sign up: August 18, 2017

The cost will be less than $20 per child for the season, and I will make a discount for families with more than one child. I won't know the final cost until sign-ups are done, because the cost of field insurance varies with the number of kids participating. For this reason, please only sign your kids up if you are quite certain they will be participating. I need an accurate head count before I buy the insurance.

Thanks!
