Homeschool Girlscout Club- Any Interst

If anyone would like further information or would like to set something up, please contact Cyndi directly.

Hello,
I’m trying to get in touch with some Home Schooled Groups in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties to discuss the possibility of doing a Girl Scout presentation to the girls and parents.
I would love the opportunity to discuss a possible partnership and discuss some great program and event opportunities we can offer to the girls!

SUNY Plattsburgh Performance of "Go Dog Go"

The SUNY Plattsburgh Department of Theatre would like to invite regional home school classes to a special matinee of our upcoming production of Go Dog. Go! by P.D. Eastman. Please find the letter of invitation attached, which includes the date and time of show and the cost of attendance. Thank you in advance, and we hope to see you at the show.

Come and join the SUNY Plattsburgh Theatre Department and discover P.D. Eastman’s classic children’s book
Go Dog. Go! as it comes to life on stage in an exploration of movement, color and space. The dogs delve into
life with gusto, creating a visual spectacle for the audience to feast upon. They snorkel. They howl at the
moon. They ride a ferris wheel. They sing and dance and climb trees. This is a rollicking free-for- all of
chicanine-ery. A big and little musical world of doggy fun. Like a pop-up book that comes to life – and never
stops.

This special matinee of Go Dog. Go! is a great opportunity to introduce your elementary school students to the
world of theatre.  Please join us in the Hartman Theatre, located in the Myers Fine Arts building at SUNY
Plattsburgh, Thursday, March 2nd at 9:30 AM for our special matinee.  The runtime on the play is
approximately 1 hour including the intermission.  A cast and crew talk back will follow and optional backstage
tours can be arranged. Tickets are discounted to $3 each for both students and chaperones.  We expect a large turnout, so do not hesitate in making your reservations.

If you are planning to attend the matinee, we encourage you to reserve your tickets as early as possible due
to high demand. Please call our office at (518) 564-2243, or e-mail at butc3332@plattsburgh.edu, to make a
group reservation and take advantage of discount pricing.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you.

YING-TRISEF Science Fair

Saturday, March 11
SUNY Potsdam
44 Pierrepont Ave, Potsdam, New York 13676

Mrs. Wood has been able to secure funding from Dr. Nelson Ying to organize fairs all over the state so that no one has to travel too far to participate. Kids in grades 6-12 in Clinton, Essex, St. Lawrence, and Franklin Counties will now go to SUNY Potsdam for competitive science fair events that lead on to further competitions at the national level (prior to this, everyone had to go to Syracuse). For instance, this year's fair leads on to the Intel ISEF Science Fair in Los Angeles (https://student.societyforscience.org/intel-isef).

Mrs. Wood is a former homeschool parent herself and so she has lots of info about how a science fair project can fulfill many subject areas on an IHIP. She would love to see TONS of homeschoolers participating. Though the fair is competitive, it's only as formal as you and your child would want to make it. You can even do a demonstration of a concept rather than a formal experiment.

Registration is $15 and includes lunch, and every participant goes home with a t-shirt and backpack. The deadline for registering is Feb 10. Mary-Eileen would love to chat with anyone with any questions. She's very nice.
