NORTH COUNTRY HOMESCHOOLING

The North Country Homeschooling group seeks to provide homeschooling support and activities to those living in the Northern NY counties of Clinton, Essex, and Franklin. Activity information is available via email, blog, and Facebook. Homeschooling support is provided though Facebook and a variety of monthly support groups. The North Country Homeschooling Group is open to anyone who homeschools or who is thinking of homeschooling. There are no membership fees.

Roosevelt Documentary Showings at in April & May 2015- Will Rogers

The Saranac Lake Free Library, in cooperation with Saranac Village at Will Rogers senior living center, will be hosting showings of the recent PBS documentary "The Roosevelts" on Tuesdays in April and May at Will Rogers. These events are free and open to the public, and children and seniors are especially invited to participate in the open discussion after each episode.

We will be showing and discussing the last 6 hours of the 14-hour documentary over the course of 6 weeks, which focuses on FDR's inauguration through WW2 up to Eleanor Roosevelt's death in 1962. (If this series goes well, we'll consider a second series to show and discuss the first half of the documentary that includes Teddy Roosevelt's life.)

We will begin each 1-hour video at 6:45pm, with discussion to follow. The dates are: April 14, 21, 28 and May 5, 12, 19.
