Poetry Out Loud

Poetry Out Loud (POL) is a national competition that is held every year in April. There is usually a local and a district competition before a student reaches the national competition. This year, if there is just 1 - 2 students from the North Country Homeschoolers that would like to participate, they would not have to do a local competition. They would compete at the district competition at CCC in February. However, if there are more than 2 students, then a local competition would be held to determine the two contestants that would represent the North Country Homeschoolers.

Due to low statewide enrollment for this year's competition, POL is allowing groups to sign up through November 30th. The sign up is just to say the person/group is interested in competing (poems would not be needed until Jan).

If anyone who has competed in the past wanted to compete again this year, they could.

Here is the website for anyone interested in learning more about the program poetryoutloud.org. The section under “Rules” will explain the competition.
