Learning another language strengthens critical- thinking and problem solving skills. Language study also raises students’ cultural awareness and respect. Additionally language skills have been shown to positively affect standardized test scores, provide competitive career opportunities and wider possibilities in life. Second language acquisition and its’ benefits are most effective when begun at the elementary level and continued thereafter.
Some topics covered in this course are colors, numbers, body parts, animals, weather, greetings, adjectives and descriptions, action words, home life and classroom vocabulary. Classes will be conducted primarily in Spanish.
