I am writing to enthusiastically invite you and your students to a free performance of The Art of Living, an original musical comedy play, on the morning of Thursday Oct-5 at the Strand Center Theatre located in downtown Plattsburgh. This invite was sent out to most schools in the area and already over half the seats of the Strand Center Theatre are booked. Please act quickly.
Attached is a PDF invitation with details about the day that you can easily share with your teachers or parents.
As a lifelong teacher (and current art teacher at Rouses Point Elementary) I am thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity to our community's students. In addition to getting to see a live performance of an original play, they will get to ask the cast and creative team about the process of bringing a show from concept to performance. They'll also get to see the recently renovated historic Strand Center Theatre in action!
Along with the PDF invitation, I have attached a flyer about the performance and a copy of the script. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like any additional information about the show by emailing my at info@dangallagherplaywright.co m. I very much hope to see you at the theater!
Sincerely,
Dan Gallagher

Hello,
I am excited to share that my original musical comedy, The Art of Living, will be hosted by the Strand Center Theatre this October. As a lifelong educator, it was important to me that this also be an opportunity to provide a unique experience for students in the area. We will be presenting a free performance for school groups, where kids can learn about the creative process of a musical comedy and also experience a live show at the beautiful, historic Strand Center Theatre.
What: A free performance of The Art of Living, an original musical comedy play written by Dan Gallagher,
Plattsburgh native and Rouses Point Elementary School art teacher. After the performance, there will be a Q&A with the cast and creative team.
Who: This special performance is open to student groups and their teachers. The show is not recommended for children under the age of 10.
When: Thursday October 5th, 2017 at 10:15am. It is recommended that you arrive 45 minutes early.
Where: The Strand Center Theatre, 25 Brinkerhoff Street, Plattsburgh NY.
Notes: No food or drink is allowed in the theater. School busses can unload in front of the theater, but there is not parking on site. The Durkee Street parking lot is large enough to accommodate busses.
If you would like to attend, please confirm by email to info@dangallagherplaywright.com with the name of the school, a contact list of the teachers, and the total number of students and teachers who will be attending. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I hope to see you there!
